Governor Appoints Counsel to Investigate Armed Mining Camp Raids

Y'all remember that a number of federal agents, armed & wearing body armor, descended on some small mining camps in the wilderness north of Chicken, Alaska. I reported the initial fall-out here.

Gov. Sean Parnell has announced a special counsel to investigate raids by federal and state authorities in the Fortymile River area.
Parnell's office says Anchorage attorney Brent Cole will be asked to determine, among other things, whether any laws were violated and if different actions could have been taken. A report is due within 90 days.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with. Stay tuned!
