Northern Lights

Everyone seems to be fascinated with the aurora borealis, visible so often in northern latitudes. The Anchorage Daily News has a collection of reader snapshots here.

Here are a couple, just to whet your appetite:

I would put seeing these on my bucket list...if I every get the nerve to head to Alaska during the winter months.

Right now, going to Key West in January or February is far more likely!

With the winters y'all get in the Adirondacks, winter here wouldn't be that much different. But I understand the desire to go someplace warm. :^)

Agreed, threecollie - and if you're far enough from town, you can hear them. They make ... sounds.
