But if it weren't for that rollover, and the subsequent medical check-up, I'd never have known about the blocked coronary artery until an actual heart attack. Mysterious ways, and all that ...

In other news:
Air quality advisories remain in effect Thursday for Anchorage, Eagle River and the Matanuska Valley as cold, dry weather persists and gusty winds kick up dust.
The National Weather Service issued a high wind warning for the Matanuska Valley for 3 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Winds, with gusts up to 70 and 80 mph, will only dry out the area more, said Michael Kutz, meteorologist with the weather service.
The weather service also issued a "red flag" warning for "critical fire weather conditions" in the Matanuska Valley and on the western Kenai Peninsula from 6 p.m. Thursday to midnight Friday.
"The winds are going to be the problem, just whistling through everywhere," Kutz said.
Increasing winds may drive air quality to "unhealthy to hazardous" levels, said an air quality advisory from the Matanuska-Sustina Borough.
In Anchorage, the Municipal Department of Health and Human Services kept Wednesday's air quality advisory in place.
The Air Quality Program recorded an air quality index value of 120 Thursday. Air quality index values between 101 and 150 are considered unhealthy for sensitive groups, said the Municipal Department of Health and Human Services. People with heart and lung ailments should avoid dusty roadways.
Fire warnings, here, in February. This weird winter continues to amaze us.

Northern Colorado, -8 at the moment. More snow forecasted for later this week.
A thirty day deep freeze in the high country will knock back the pine beetles again.
Winter snow means summer water for our semi-arid region and help for the aquifers.
I know it is cold when the snow makes a popping sound as you walk on it.
Yep. I love it when it's that cold. I'd tell you to enjoy, but don't know if you do enjoy it.
Things work out for reasons as you know so well now. Obviously had someone looking out for you.
Sorry we got your weather down here. going to -4 again tonight and doesn't look like we are going to get out of the 20's for about another week. If then.
I Love the cold and the snow I just prefer it in more moderate amounts and spaced with some warmer days occasionally :)
Part of living in Colorado. What I don't like is heat. Enjoy the weather in Seattle.
Glad you're here . . . healthy and sound and able to reflect on that anniversary.
And yes . . this winter has us all taking notice. Weird.
Seattle? Now I'm confused. Oh well, that's nothing new.
Yes, Preppy, that's true. As far as the weather is concerned, it's normal temps here too, and will be in single digits tomorrow night. Sorry yours is colder than normal, though.
I agree, Cathy - it could have been much, much worse.
I lived in Seattle for eighteen years. Had my family there when working in Alaska. Family issues brought me back to Colorado (elderly mother).
Rev. Paul,
It's hard to believe a year has come and gone already since the accident.
I believe the good Lord was watching out for you that day, he wanted to make sure this blocked artery was found.
I believe that's correct, Sandy. He isn't finished with me yet. :)
Looking at those pictures, reminded of just how much safer vehicles are today. We complain about how much they costs, but what price do you put on your body?
Agreed, sir. That model Expedition had a 5-star rating on "rollover protection" - worth its weight in gold, as it turned out. Because that saved my life, right there.
A year already? Wow. Glad you are still with us.
Thanks, my friend. As a Christian, I have mixed emotions about it: it's good to be here with my family, watching my grown daughters, etc ... but death here means eternity with Jesus.
But, all things considered, I'm not ready to leave here yet. :)
It wasn't your time... Period...
Concur!
