LARPing, Star Trek, and 20-sided dice are taking over parts of the nation, including Alaska, which was recently named the second nerdiest state in America.
The results for "The Nerdiest States in America", posted by Estately, came after a lengthy and in-depth look into social media trends on Facebook, involving 12 "nerdy" categories: Star Trek, cosplay, Harry Potter, Star Wars, anime, D&D, LARPing, Doctor Who, fantasy literature, Lord of the Rings, Magic: The Gathering, and comic books.
At the top of the list, Utah was declared the winner, with the highest number of nerds per capita. Alaska came behind in a close second, which local dungeon master Lauren Howard says is because "it's hard to fit a costume over a snow suit".
... The top five states considered most "nerd friendly" were Utah, Alaska, Wyoming, Idaho, and Colorado. The five states with the lowest ratio of nerds per capita were Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, New Jersey, and Mississippi. Washington D.C. was listed separately from the states, and ranked the lowest out of every area.

hmmm. I wonder how they rate Cali as "Few Nerds" Same with Texas actually I know of more from those states than any others.
It does seem strange, that.
Hah, I knew it....I live in hell.
I have to admit, Stephen, that your fears have been confirmed. Heh.
Sheesh, an outsider in my own Colorado State.

I have only a vague idea what most of those are.
Don't feel bad, WSF; I've been a nerd for decades & still had to look up LARPing.
Rev. Paul,
Nerd Friendly explains a lot about Oklahoma, lol
