Parking Lot Visitor

This is what I saw when I pulled into the lot at work this morning:

He was either licking salt from the gravel at the edge of the asphalt, or maybe drinking from the many puddles from the rain. Or maybe both.

Not a bad rack, for a yearling.

Nice. I was satisfied with two deer eating our backyard plants but your moose picture is great!

This one's huge, too, even though the picture doesn't provide any good reference. He's easily in the 1,100 lb range already; gonna be a BIG 'un.

If we had one of these critters in a local parking lot . . it'd be the headline news for a week.
Can't imagine having it be a ho-hum sighting.

Cathy, on the contrary: even life-long Alaskans get all giddy over moose, and will rush to the nearest window when anyone sees one. We love 'em!

Moose & whitetails are cousins ... but there's a lot more meat on a moose. :)

Rev. Paul,

He's a beauty!!!

I could see giving him a little more time to grow more before hunting season, then filling my freezer :-)

Go for it, Sandy. His mom has twins every year, which is common for moose ... so there's more where that came from. :)
