Entirely too close for comfort.
At the McNeil River State Game Sanctuary, grizzlies and humans have learned to share the area, though humans are well-advised to stay way, way back and let the bears have the area.
This one's a bit too used to humans:

Hubby and I just watched this.
There were a couple "yikes" and at least one "expletive deleted".
YGTBSM!!! I'd have been gone in a heartbeat...
Rev. Paul,
Watched the video, I can only imagine this guy needing to change his pants.,,,,,,,,,LOL!!!!!
Once had occasions to visit Angoon in SE AK. Brownies stroll down the streets and the residents simply step aside between the buildings. They told me they have a "kinship" with the bears. Maybe so, but those bears didn't have any kinship with Celts, so I would enter the nearest building, invited or not.
Cathy, it's unnerving just to watch it.
NFO, I suspect you'd have had my company in that "strategic withdrawal".
Sandy, he didn't even worry about it until the bear walked right by him. Wow.
WSF, we have bears in our yard occasionally. I prefer not to give the chance to sample Scots-Irish.
Heh kinda looked like he was just hanging out seeing what was in the cooler and hoping someone would offer. :)
After he figured out he wasn't getting invited to the little party it was off to find another.
Preppy, I had the same thought ... I guess we're similarly warped. :)
Um...I'd like to see grizzlies and polar bears. Heck, I'd like to see a black bear again. But that is WAY too close.
PH, I'm with you. I love to see 'em from a block away. That's just too close!
Shades of Tim Treadwell (May he rest in pieces).
ML, you've been reading my mind, although Treadwell finally had to scat.
