Sunday Morning Comin' Down

The rain, that is. Of course it's raining; we've scheduled a range trip for this afternoon.

But no matter. Taking all the long guns along; the Garand will remain cased until the rain stops, but it's going.

Quite a collection of ammo set aside, although nothing esoteric: .22LR, 9mm, .45 ACP, .270 Win, .30-'06 Spgfld, and 7.62x54.

Some are harder to find than others; all but the .22 can be found locally, at widely varying prices. All of those prices are too high, but that's a whole 'nother story.

* * * * *

And finally, for you wildlife lovers and/or hunters out there, here's a picture from Thursday afternoon, before leaving work:

"But Paul," you may ask, "why are you showing us cars and trees?"

Look closer:

All y'all have a wonderful Sunday, and thank you for stopping by.

I hope that moose isn't looking to jump someone in the parking lot :)

Naw, he was just drinking from that puddle that he's standing over. Moose only attack if you get up in their personal space. That may be as much as thirty feet, though. :)

Big sucker... :-)

You're right, NFO. He's big for a yearling (well, 18 months, maybe), but his mama is huge.

Kinda funny looking creatures. Ya just can't apply the word "graceful" to that shape.

Rev. Paul,

Hopefully, the rain stopped and you were able to get out and fire your guns at the range.

I would love to see this out my window at work. I usually only see plenty of birds, snakes, skunks, and possums. From time to time, I see a deer or two.

True, Cathy, but there's something about those long legs when they're wading through belly-deep snow drifts. :)

Sandy, we went, and it was good. You're not likely to see moose in Oklahoma, but there's always vacation in northern climes.

She's a sweet rifle, threecollie. :)

We made it, Kelly - thanks!
