Casual Day, Sort Of

Today will be a casual day, with little going on. It's grey and blustery outside, registering 34° at present. The weatherman promises peeks of sunshine later, but we never count on that. If it happens, great! If not, then whatever. It's warm inside.

My wife began preparing a large batch of her prize-winning chili yesterday, and it'll be ready for dinner this evening. It takes 24 hours for all the flavors and textures to fully meld into the thick, mouth-watering concoction which we love.

Also to be prepared: pork tenderloin, sweet rice, and a low-sugar pumpkin pie (or two).

Meanwhile, we're sitting around the fireplace with good books, great coffee, and soft music playing.

Life is good.

Thanks for stopping by, friends. Have a great Sunday!

Rob, it's been a fantastic day so far, and the chili dinner will be at 18:00, so good stuff still to come!

Great life, my friend!

I always cook my "GT500" chili at least 24 hours.

Jim, agreed: 24 hours is a minimum. It's always even better the next day. :)

It is surely the time of year for big pots of hot delicious goodies. And warm hours snuggled up with good books.

threecollie, that's true. We're trying not to overdo it now, since winter will be with us through March. Or maybe April.
