Reprint: America in the Balance

By request, from a friend:

While much attention has been paid to the administration's announcement of further restrictions and infringements on that which shall not be infringed, we mustn't forget that there are other forces at play.

Radical Islam not only threatens our nation, our security, and our lives, but there's another side which we've now seen playing out all across Europe and elsewhere. Apparently peaceful Muslim adherents to the radical view move into communities, begin multiplying their numbers through both procreation and recruitment, and then ... when they reach numbers that they consider sufficient, they suddenly turn into militants, using protests, disruption of service, and legal challenges to force Sharia law onto unsuspecting populations.

Case in point: an Anglican bishop stated, in 2009, ""Many bishops prefer to turn their heads, to carry on as if nothing has changed, rather than face the reality that England is no longer a Christian nation."

The use of Sharia, or Islamic religious law, is growing in Britain, with thousands of Muslims using it to settle disputes each year, but women's groups and some others are objecting.

Meanwhile, in America, "40 Percent of US Muslim Voters Want Islamic Law, 12 Percent Want Death for Blasphemers".

There's the apparent, on-going loss of morality as many in the population congratulate themselves on how "post-Christian" they are. The media's war on Christianity is obvious to most of us, with adherents being demonized for believing in a code of moral behavior centered around obedience to the Creator of us all.

That doesn't fly with many. Admission that a Supreme Being exists would require acknowledgement that He is in charge and makes the rules. Of course, we can't have that.

Of course, many of the things mentioned above flow out of, and through, the Progressive movement, firmly in place in this nation since the presidency of Woodrow Wilson, wants to "progress" past the Constitution - and it is they who insist the Constitution itself is a "living document, subject to modern interpretations which would be unrecognizable by those who wrote it. Their heartfelt desire is to subvert, twist, and suspend that document - the supreme law of the land - as often as they can. They insist that it really doesn't mean what it says in black & white.

The Progressives are those who wish to "appease" the radical Islamists.
"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
-Sir Winston Churchill

But first and foremost, the very soul of this nation is under attack. By passing unConstitutional laws restricting our natural (pre-existent) rights, attacking Christianity as being divisive and somehow "incorrect", society in general is farther than ever before from the foundational principles which the framers of the Constitution believed necessary for continued existence.
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” (John Adams, 2nd President)

The Apostle Paul wrote, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
Ephesians 6:12, KJV

In modern English, that reads, "This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels." (Eph. 6:12, The Message)

If you of the praying, Bible-believing sort, please believe that we are at a very critical juncture in our history, as we fight for our continued existence. The outcome of this very battle may well determine whether America remains that shining city upon on a hill, or declines into just another banana republic with rule by oligarchy.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Well said Rev.

We ARE at a critical juncture, both for our nation and by extension all of humanity.

If these truly are "post-Christian" times then the Anti-Christ is among us.

Rev. Paul said...

Thanks, Sarge. It's entirely possible that the Anti-Christ is alive & well, biding his time somewhere.

Personally, I see no large scale repentance on the peoples part. Just a whole lot more of the same. So sad, just like what happened to Israel.

Rev. Paul said...

JMD, it may not be immediately apparent, but I think it's coming - and very fortunately for us, God is patient and kind with His children.

As JMD said about Israel.
And as God SENT Nebuchednezzar to punish the nation, even the righteous were afected.

Rev. Paul said...

Very true, Ed; thanks.

RP, If I may, let me offer a word of encouragement. While you would never know it by listening to the news or observing our political division and hatred, God is moving in the land. My wife and I just got done with a 40 day prayer and fasting time along with many others in our church. Many others across the land are doing the same and seeing God move in ways never encountered in their lives.

When we started this, my opinion was that we were done as a nation and all we had to do was wait. The Lord is, in my opinion, setting us up for a great awakening. He's calling people to pray like never before specifically for this nation. He's calling missionaries here! Some would think that sad but where they're called, big things often follow.

There is much discouragement out there. The enemy is very hard at work promoting that. I'm seeing otherwise and acting on it. I'm also being attacked like never before for it. Job losses and illnesses happening that never should have, etc. Tough as it is, I'm excited!

My exhortation to you and the other 2 of your readers (you set yourself up for that the other day, lol) is this. Pray. Spend time with God, even if only 5-10 minutes a day. Ask! Ask Big! He did make the universe you know. What's a little world wide awakening to Him? Easy peazy! Paul, I figure you probably don't need the pep talk but some of your many readers might. I just felt I should share.

I also want to say that your blog means a great deal to me. I don't know exactly why. Maybe it's just that regular snap shot of life up in Alaska. Maybe it's something else. I'm glad you write brother. I will get up there one day and we can have a cup of joe and a moose steak together.

DP, that's a great word of encouragement. Very well said!

And if you ever make it up here, it would be my honor to buy lunch, or dinner, or whatever.

May God continue to bless you as He expands His vision for your life!
