Can't Find a Wordpress Blog?

More than 100,000 WordPress websites have been infected with malware after attackers exploited a vulnerability in a popular WordPress plugin called RevSlider. The attack turns the infected WordPress sites into unwilling distributors of yet more malware, this time aimed at visitors to the sites.

The malware campaign has been dubbed SoakSoak because it causes some infected websites to redirect visitors to a malicious website at  soaksoak.ru. In an attempt to curb the infections, Google has blacklisted over 11,000 affected WordPress domains, according to Menifee, California-based security company Sucuri.

Sorry, Guffaw ... it's nothing personal. I hope they get it fixed soon.

I can't help but think of all the bloggers who left Blogger for the "much better wordpress". I figured in the end it was just trading one set of problems for another when it all comes out.

Preppy - that. What you said. :)

Yep, and sitemeter got hacked a week or so ago... so a bunch of us have dumped that one too...

NFO, it was my understanding that sitemeter was actually bought out by an organization that sends spam, or something like that. Either way, I suspect these things are going to get worse, rather than better.

Rev. Paul,

I have to agree with you on things are going to get worse, rather than better.

Sandy - it's just sad, really.

Guffaw - I pay $10/year for Blogger (big spender, me) so I'm sure I don't know what you mean. :)
