Want to See What Anchorage Looks Like?

This video was shot (not by me) in May, 2012. Enjoy this brief look at Anchorage and parts to the east/southeast.

One minor correction: there's a reference to the "1964 tsunami" that created the so-called ghost forest along Turnagain Arm. That surge was combined with a drop in elevation due to the 9.2 magnitude earthquake, allowing the salt water to wash across the lowlands along the Arm, killing the trees.

Thank you for sharing your part of the world that I have always dreamed about. The other videos at the end were good too!

Rev.Paul,

Great video, thank you for sharing it with us. One day, I will get out to Alaska. My husband goes every now and then for work.

I think we would have to pull a trailer across, and stay more than a week or two. Get some fishing, hiking, and hunt done in the process.

Sandy, you couldn't see it all in a month. 587,000 square miles takes a long time.

If y'all decide to drive up, let me know - there's some seasonal advice I could offer.

Now I really, really want some Kaladi's.

*sigh*

I'll be back... some summer! Not winter!

Wing, we're just finishing a bag of Kaladi's Sumatra roast, and will be opening the Red Goat on Saturday morning.

Ah, good sir! I raise my mug of tea in rueful acknowledgement of the skill at which you slip that knife in!
