An Anchorage driver who encountered a moose calf walking across an East Anchorage road Saturday evening says he took matters -- and the moose -- into his own hands to ensure the animal’s safety.

Chickenmom, a calf that size is going to normally be less than 75 yards or so from Mom. I'm surprised she didn't charge the guy who picked up her baby.
Ballsy... And I wonder if mom is even alive?
NFO, it's possible that mom is gone - but Fish & Wildlife would probably have been heard from re: that, by now.
