Fires, Fires Everywhere
The fire to the south, on the Kenai Peninsula, has grown to 3,000 acres. Firefighters there report that it's zero percent contained, but there's some good news. They report that the fire's growth is toward the Chugach National Forest, into a large recreation area, and away from homes.
The Mat-Su fire remains at about 7,500 acres, and is 75 percent contained, authorities say. That's a good.
The local news reports that there are 18 fires of significant size across the state, most of which have been ignited by lightning since Tuesday night. Dry storms, we're told, with little rain but a lot of strikes. Lovely.
Pray for rain for nearly all of Alaska, and especially the wildfire areas, please.

Done and continuing.
Rev. Paul,
It's that time of year when it gets dry and there's forest fires.
I wish I could send you all of our rain to help. Stay safe!
Thank you, Vicki.
Sandy, it would be a big help if you can pull it off. :)
Oh how I wish we could send some of this Ohio sogginess. It's been a crazy year.
Cathy, it seems almost every year for the last decade has been a 'crazy' one, weather-wise. But we'd sure take the rain if you can get it here.
Lord Jesus. Please help.
Done and done!
Amen, Ed. Amen.
Thank you, NFO.
So sad - saw the fire reports on the news. Prayers and hope for all.
Thank you, Chickenmom.
