It seems as though speaking the truth these days is an act of courage. Telling the truth gains a person arrows from all sides. Which means I am in trouble. If I should tell a lie, I am too old to remember what the lie was. Much more simple for me to just be truthful and learn to duck.

That's a fact, Vicki. There will come a time, not long from now, when telling the truth will be a criminal act - at least in certain topics.

Keep on speaking the truth. :)

I thought a man dressing as a woman and getting millions of dollars in free publicity for doing so was an act of courage.

I'm way too old fashioned. I remember when speaking the truth was a virtue.

burkdoggy - that is what "they" tell us, nowadays. So be it: the fault lies solely with them.

I wonder if this nation needs a fear of hell.

Pretty much tells where we are now... sigh

Ed, I think most of the people in this country would now deny the existence of a literal Hell. More's the pity.

NFO, it's quite telling, and sad.

It is as though the kool-aid drinkers are part of a friggin' cult!
(see what I did there?)

Seriously, the inability to question policies, followed by condemnation and punitive actions?

Doesn't sound like the Constitutional Republic I grew up in!

Guffaw, that's repetitively redundant! :) But also quite correct.
