We Should Be Ashamed

of ourselves, for betraying a sacred trust. Whose trust?

Samuel Adams.

An important patriot of the Revolutionary period, Samuel Adams was a vocal opponent of British rule and largely responsible for the resistance that culminated in the Boston Tea Party.

Yes, that guy.  So what did he say?

The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks - It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men.

So what say ye now, patriots? Anyone? Bueller?

Sometimes I think that the general population has already bought the pig in a poke that the government is selling. But they are way too busy with their favorite sports team's success or failure or with the latest electronic gadget or the size of a Kardashian butt to bother to look inside the poke and see just what sort of monster they paid for. And I believe that most don't want to know, for if they did they would have to deal with it.

Sigh.
Of course Sam (and you) are right.
We are too busy resting on our laurels (or sticking our noses into our smartphones) to pay any real attention to the ever encroaching cancer of government.

AND, Stephen stole my AMEN! :-)

Thank you, Stephen.

Vicki, I believe you're correct. Unfortunately.

Guffaw, you're correct, too. Darn it.

Padre, a good post, i think our way of life has gone down hill since...(fill in the blank) Most would say the time has come to drop to our knees and pray to God for answers, but if you do you run the risk of beheading for praying to the wrong God??.

But the question is does it matter which God you pray too?? Buddha, Allah, Jesus or his father the Lord God Almighty, or any other symbol of Christ. Are they not one in the same.????

Rob, to answer your question directly: God & His son Jesus are not the same as Buddha (a philosopher with no pretense of godhood), or Allah (a distortion of our Father God, commanding all sorts of things in the Koran which violate scriptures in the Bible).

They are most assuredly not the same.
