Friday, I Thought You'd Never Arrive

Personal log, Stardate 10302015:  My friend has died, and this community is diminished. For me personally, he was the best boss I've ever had, and a truly great man who touched countless lives.

I expect to be struck by moments of sudden sadness throughout the day, and that's as it should be. I still manage one of the places he built, and for the rest of us, life goes on. Yes, he sold it recently, but it remains a monument to his achievements. The best thing I can do is to run this property to the very best of my ability, to honor him.

* * * * *

There's a rain/sleet/snow mix falling outside, and it's changing over to mostly snow as the temperature slides south. Driving in this morning wasn't any big deal beyond the usual issues with visibility, but this afternoon could be ... interesting.

So.

There's work to do. Thank you for stopping by, friends.

Sad tidings my friend. Prayers have been offered. The death of a good person diminishes us all.

I'm sorry to hear that, Rev.

Take comfort in the fact that you knew him, and considered him a friend. I know it really doesn't help ease the loss, but think of the good times, and the warmth of your friendship.

I pray he didn't suffer, and that he's in a better place now.

It is never easy, is it. Even when we know they have moved on to the wonders of Heaven. You are in my prayers.

So sorry to learn of such a sad loss. Life is so hard sometimes. Yes, hug and cherish those you love and practice kindness to others because you never know what burdens they carry.
Hope you made it home ok.

Cathy & Jim - thank you.

Sounds like he lived in such a way that he rose well above the noise floor.

Sorry for your loss.

Matt, he was described to me as "in his prime, he was practically a force of nature." Thank you.

I am sorry for your loss.

"in his prime, he was practically a force of nature."

And yes, this makes it even more sad...

It does indeed, Guffaw. Knowing what he had been, it was hard to see age & infirmity strike so hard, so quickly.
