Snowpocalypse 2016

isn't happening here. Dang it. All you who are afflicted with the Alaskan snowdump have our sympathy, and a little envy.

We should be having that, but no: we get light snow mixed with freezing rain, changing to an all-wintry mix this afternoon.

Sigh ...

Oh, well, it's off on the weekend shopping run we go.

Well We are not getting the big dump but we got some from that system. I sure wish you would keep this snow and these temps up there were it belongs!!!!

36" and counting. State plows still stuck in their garages.

Yep, El Nino is alive and well this year...

Preppy, we wish the same thing. We need the snow!

ML, I hear you. We have snowplows the size of locomotives up here, that haven't been used lately.

NFO, that is a serious truth, sir.

Yep, the East Coast is really getting hammered, especially NYC.

Last I heard it was in their top two or three one-day snowfalls since they started keeping records.

There was a report of a large earthquake up your way(?)
Are you all okay?

drjim, I know it's a big snowfall, and hope no one loses their life this time ... but I also know it's all the talking news heads will mention for the next week. Everything revolves around NYC and D.C., don'tcha know.

Guffaw, it was a 7.1. We're shaken, but unharmed.

Still digging out here. Second biggest snow event for Berks County Pa. 30+ inches in spots. Our daughter in Kasilof felt the shake this morning. Was rather put out that several bottles of wine were goners. Glad everyone is ok.

rider, I'm glad your daughter's okay. Things got a little hairier on her end of the Peninsula. One house burned from a broken gas line in Nikiski.
Re: the snow, 30" isn't unheard of here, but where you, that's something.

Yup on the snow. Right now she can't get out. The turnoff to her house is at the mile 1 marker on K Beach with no back way. She's going to be stuck for a little bit but otherwise all is okay.

Rev. Paul,
You're so right about everything being DC, VA, NYC.
I had to laugh watching the news last night with all the cars parked at curb side snow plowed in. Oklahoma is looking good right about now :-) I don't miss living in any large city.
