Talk about raising one's expectations!

My lovely wife is out in the yard, grilling a bunch of burgers and chicken breasts, and the weather - grey and ugly as always, this winter - is trying to rain. Yes, I know it should be snowing. Take it up with El Niño.

Speaking of the lack of winter: the rear window defroster on my Explorer seems to have given up the ghost. I replaced the fuse, without result, so that probably means the relay is toast. A "dealer only" item, of course ... grumblegrumblegrumble...

And you probably didn't know that you owe your wi-fi to Alaska. Well, sort of:
Alex Hills is known as the inventor of Wi-Fi, but his work bringing public radio and telephones to rural Alaska in the 1970s prepared him for that work and remains among his proudest accomplishments.
He led the team that built the first Wi-Fi network at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh in the early 1990s, launching a revolution in mobile computing that has changed our lives. Afterward, Hills moved back to Palmer and remains involved in the community.
Like all good Alaskan stories, it involves grit, determination, and duct tape. :)

That's a great story, and yes determination!!! :-)
Sounds like you also qualify for twice the payments.
Wifi...I like it..... Best wishes in your housing endeavor. I'm sure the getting it done will be a misery, but it will be worth it when finished.
Knew there was a reason why I love Alaska! :o)
Rev. Paul,
Congrats on your VA loan you've earned it!!!!
Grilling......sounds good, we'll be right over....LOL
Enjoy your weekend!! Expecting rain tomorrow night as well.
Buy some property with an old mine shaft on it and build a huge bunker!!!!!
It's a winter conspiracy... the minute the coals are good and hot, it will either rain or snow.
Congratulations on your loan. I pray you find the property that is right for you and the family.
