Nearly Done

99 percent of our things are now at least in the new house. As Old NFO so adroitly observed in a comment on the previous post, unpacking takes forever.

Because we've run out of time, what with all of us working full time, I've reserved a cargo van for tomorrow afternoon. We'll take a pile o' trash and debris to a local drop-off, and then the last load of belongings will come here.

The unpacking will take a bit longer. 😥

on Sunday, two of us will shop for groceries and several things our need for which has been revealed by the move.  The other two of us are going to test drive a couple of newer pickups. Seems Older Daughter's '96 Ranger has given its all.

So busy days continue to be the norm.

I hope I never move again in this lifetime, though we plan to get a little bug out cabin out in the woods when I retire for the weekends. Enjoy your new home - it will be richly enjoyed I am sure.

My late father often stated the best way to move was five gallons of gasoline and a book of matches.

I've sworn that's going to be my approach if they don't take me out of here feet first.

Brigid, I truly understand. I'm just about done with moving, and since this place has a 30-year mortgage, I'll be 91 right before the last payment is made. That's not really the time to move again, so ... I'll stay put. :)

WSF, that approach has a definite appeal, especially today.

PH, I'm not quite sure what you're referring to.

Rev. Paul,

There's no hurry to unpack and get formally settled in. Just take it one day at a time!!
