Not that it will come as a surprise to anyone, but we've all used as much gas this week as we normally consume in a full week.
Has something to do with those 45 to 60 mph headlong gusts this morning, I imagine. And the 30 mph headwinds yesterday afternoon ... and this afternoon, too.
So how come the wind's never blowing from behind us? Grumblegrumblegrumble ...

Try driving backward so the wind is blowing from behind you!
It would certainly be a novel approach! :)
Find a heavy stone and tie yourself down
Rob, that would make the mileage even worse! :^)
Works better with a tailwind. Once on I80 in Wyoming going East, got 30+ MPG in a Lincoln Towncar.
That's pretty decent in a luxo-boat that size. Tailwinds are our friends (usually), but it seems I rarely catch one strong enough to help with mileage. On the other hand, I'm only on the highway for about 15 minutes each way, so no big deal.
