It was around 10:00 when we went out, and as 10:30 approached, the sun began to appear over the mountains to the southeast. It was so lovely that I just had to snap a few photos. As always, click to enlarge.
Looking out the north end of the driveway... |
to the center of the front yard ... |
to the east end of the drive, along the front of the house. |
Around 10:30 as the sun appeared through the trees to the southeast. |
Looking up to the north, at the mountain ridge across the road. |
Looking out the front windows as the sun illuminates the trees in the yard. |
Looking south, from the breakfast nook, as the sun blankets the back yard. |

Oh so pretty.....
It still takes my breath away after 15 years, Jim. It's such an astonishingly-beautiful place. And we get to live here! :)
You really scored when you bought that house. I'm glad we have an extra side property on which large spruce trees are planted so we can just pretend the neighbors aren't 50 yards away.
50 yards away?
Your'e lucky....our neighbors are less than 50 beet away
Brigid - we still pinch ourselves every day, in astonishment at what a wonderful place God brought us to. And yes, a large tree screen is a wonderful thing. :)
Jim - we weren't interested in having close neighbors. We walked away from a number of homes built on zero-lot-line plots. Not interested in having another house literally 12 feet away.
I don't blame you. I would be in awe every day, too.
You all be safe, keep warm, and God bless.
Beautiful! 'Hope to see a lot more of your wonderful paradise you call home!
Not sure I'd want to endure the temperature for the view. :)
What a wonderful view.
Thank you, Linda.
Chickenmom, I will post pix from time to time. :)
Ed, we have a very efficient heating system in the house, so it's all roast-toasty inside while we enjoy the view. Going out into the yard is another matter, of course, but folks who don't enjoy the cold probably shouldn't move here.
It is indeed, Cathy. Thanks.
Brrrrrr in good way! Sun on snow, snow on trees...a marvel!
Glad you like the pics, Fiona. Thanks.
