Carter's comment is ridiculous. If the higher ups made the offer that should end the discussion. Anyone involved in harming these soldiers should immediately go to jail.

Let's see what happens to the retention rate now.....

Matt, it's articles like this which cause me to hark back to Obeyme's comments at the beginning of his reign. He said, “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”

Demoralizing and gutting the U.S. military may well leave him with a governmental force with as many guns, but they won't be as well-trained, and they certainly won't be as effective as the veterans he's enraged over the last eight years.

Which is why every civilian branch of the government has been given thousands of arms, ammunition, and even military vehicles. Given everything they have done to demoralize the military - like this transgender accommodation class, or whatever; and the fact that most of our military numbers are the lowest they have been in decades, I seriously doubt they care what the retention rate is. If I was in the military now, and had to put up with all the wussy stuff, I would not reenlist.

It was a war. They wanted to retain people. They gave them a bonus. There should be no paying back. Period.

I just pray the Lord will not let Killary win the office.

Be safe and God bless you all.

Correct, Linda, on all points.

Apparently, they have forgotten history. Specifically, The Bonus Army...

If they think of it at all, they'll remember that Douglas MacArthur - the big "hero" - commanded the Army troops who attacked the camps and slaughtered veterans who were demanding that the gov't keep its promises.

The veterans were mostly unarmed. That's a mistake which WON'T be repeated.

I either did not know or did not remember that part, Reverend. But you are right. I don't think any vets will let it happen again.
