Senate Votes to Repeal Obamacare

The Senate is already rolling back President Barack Obama’s legacy.
It passed the continuing resolution, S. Con.Res. 3, that tears away the fees, taxes and subsidies from the 201o Patient Protection and Affordable Cart Act, Obamacare, shortly after 1:25 Thursday morning, 51-to-48.
All Republicans, except for Sen. Rand Paul (R.-KY), voted for the resolution. Paul criticized the budget resolution for not addressing the federal debt and for not having a companion replacement bill. Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D.-CA), who is recovering from a scheduled medical procedure was absent from the chamber.

I can only think this is a good thing, even though there may be some short-term pain. Assuming the Congress gets replacement legislation in place quickly.

The libertarian/Constitutionalist in me wants to point out that the U.S. Constitution provides not one shred of authority for the Federal government to create, mandate, or sell health insurance. The best thing they could do is to mandate a level playing field for private insurers - and that would be to remove any boundaries to selling across state lines.

But no one asked me. No worries, though: I volunteered to provide my opinion here. :)

Sen. Dianne Feinstein has been "absent from the chamber" for a loooong time!

And that's probably one of the nicer things we could say about her. ;^)

Competition. What a concept. I agree with you on the level playing field thing.

I was so happy to see Trump tell that reporter he wasn't getting a question. I would have kicked his butt out for rude and unprofessional behavior. I would like to see the press pool to go back to raising your hand and waiting to be called upon...without squirming in your seat like a 7 year old, or yelling out!

I heard on the radio someone (I forget who) interviewed the incoming press secretary who said he told that reporter to shape up or he would be shipped out and not allowed back in. No second chances.

I see no reason for anyone, either Trump or Hillary, if she had won, to have to put up with the filthy crap that CNN and Buzzfeed put out. Trump needs to make an example of these folks so everyone else thinks twice about continuing to throw temper tantrums' in public. Trump won the election, get over it. Just deal! We need a resurgence of manners in this country. Just my 2 cents.

Thank you, threecollie. It would bring prices down post-haste, when former monopolies have to play nice with one another. :)

Suz, I like the way you think. Yes, manners have been in short supply for a number of years, and it wouldn't hurt reporters (or anyone else, for that matter) to be polite. A bit pushy I understand; insistent, I understand; but not outright disrespectful.
