Trumped Up

It's getting harder to tell reliable news from political opinion.

Yesterday I saw a headline to the effect of "Melania may not move to D.C. at all". Today on Drudge, there's this: "UPDATE: Melania plans move to DC this summer..."  But it's CNN, so who knows.

So what are we to make of that? Meh, whatever. Time will tell, and then we'll all know.

The riot (and there's no other word for it) at Berkeley last night was completely out of control. That, despite continued declarations that "there is a police presence".  There were none visible on the endless tape loop showing on Fox, at the time, but I wasn't there.

The Left, the Progressives, and the various media (but I repeat myself) still haven't wrapped their heads around President Trump's election. It's fun to watch them stumbling and bumbling their way through ... well, whatever it is that's taken the place where newscasts used to be. "Agitprop" is probably a good word for it.

But the Dimocrits on Capitol Hill are another matter. It's embarrassing to anyone who loves the United States of America to see things like Chuck Schumer beclowning himself on camera. I mean, there's a reason why his opponents have called him "Chuck the Schmuck" for years, but ... tears? Really?

He didn't cry when almost 3,000 died on 9/11.  He didn't cry in 2011 when Obama banned travelers from the same Middle East countries for six months. He didn't cry in 2015 when Obama signed the law mentioning those seven countries again, as sources of terrorism. But now?

Obviously, the only thing different this time is the nominally-Republican President. And come to think of it, "Chuckie the Clown" has a nice ring to it ...

It's highly entertaining. And I tell you this: if you thought January was fun, wait for the rest of this month to unfold. The winds of change are accelerating, and most are going to have trouble keeping up.

Pass the popcorn. :^)

Padre, Their is no longer main stream media, just a bunch of SPIN DR with out any knowledge at all..All these goofballs, better word used around a man of the cloth, are doing is just sinking deeper into their own hell. No one will ever listen to them again.

CA. wants to leave the union, OK, go ahead, it helps the US, How?? They loose their 55 elector college votes, and its my understanding the US will never have a liberal President again..Still Winning...

Rob, given the level of astoundingly incompetent governance from California thus far, I'm not sure they can pull off an actual secession. Still, it's great entertainment.

They don't call Berkeley "Berserkely" for nothing! It's interesting that, in California, you'll be fined $5000.00 for throwing a lit cigarette out of your car window, but torching a government-funded university campus is somehow OK.

No, I don't think California will secede either. Doing so will render it a country with a population too poor to tax, too anti-gun to raise a militia, and too brainless to do anything about either. And, as Rob said, The Dumacrats would lose their only hope of a future president...

It's hard to believe California was ever a red state...

Pete, I've long-since stopped wondering at Fornicalia: they simply makes no sense. But I like your points on their attempt to justify secession. :)

Here in western MI there is a chain of gas stations that sell 2 quart pails all December for $10. (Well, OK, $9.and change)They are labeled popcorn buckets. Beginning January 1 that bucket is good all year for as many FREE refills as you want. All you have to do is show up at a station, hand over the bucket, and it is cheerfully refilled.

Ours has been getting a lot of business so far this year. That's all I'm saying. :)

I can only imagine, Suz. :)

It is extremely tiring. I don't understand why no one went to jail or prison.
Oh, right. They're liberals. They can do no wrong.

*sigh*

Be safe! God bless America, please.

Linda, I saw at least one headline yesterday asserting that the Berkeley police were told to stand down. That alone would make me furious, if true. Allowing the rioters to do whatever they wish, unopposed, is EXACTLY the wrong thing to do. But I suspect that things are going to get better. I'll have to tell y'all why, once of these days. ;^)

I keep trying to figure out how 1) mentally disabled or 2) mentally ill you have to be to make sense of the recent blatherings of folks like Nancy Pelosi. I mean, REALLY? I'm supposed to take you seriously?

PH, between Pelosi and some of the other "lesser lights" in the House, it makes me wonder how they get anything done at all. And then I look at their record over the last several years, and ... oh. Right.

No, nobody with a functioning brain cell could take her seriously. Srsly. :)
