Psalm 22:27-28: “All the ends of the world shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the Lord's, and he ruleth among the nations.”
I detest those condescending idiots in Hollywood. My hand aches for my ax handle when I think of their snide, supercilious attitudes. If I were richer than Midas and more vain than Narcissus, I couldn't be as asinine as they are if I tried. It takes a special kind of self absorbed individual to reach those levels.
I can't remember the last time I watched any award show. I'd rather watch a bunch of military folks get medals and promotions instead of all the ego stroking that goes on at the snobs award show
Ed, that's pretty close. We watched it when Bob Hope or Johnny Carson hosted, and to be entertained. Now, there's nothing of entertainment to be found in the entire broadcast.
I cannot actually remember the last time I watched any part of the Oscars. It is essentially as the cartoon states, an echo chamber: people voting on and celebrating themselves and getting paid by the very people I believe many in their heart of hearts consider ignorant and beneath them.
There was a time you watched because great actors made great films, and most were pretty humble about it. Now it's forgettable movies made by people no one will remember and that all strut and preen and and dare to use that stage to spew contempt and hatred towards the rest of us for not agreeing with their opinions on things that have nothing to do with why they are up there. Not for me, thanks.

I concur - well said!

I don't think I've ever watched the Oscars, Golden Globes, or any other "awards" show.
It's all meaningless drivel to me....
Rob - we stopped watching years ago, and I agree that a military awards ceremony would actually have meaning.
Jim - we did, but it's been quite awhile. It was fun ... once upon a time.
There was a time you watched because of the MC.
Or to get your taste in film validated.
No more.

Rev. Paul,
Life keeps me pretty busy limiting my television watching.
Your cartoon post is dead on with it's message :-)
ML, that's it, in a nutshell. Well said.
Sandy, thank you.
