President-elect
Donald Trump has now appointed nine members to the White House, each
of whom profess publicly to be Christians. Is this a huge answer to
prayer?
“For
many years, we have prayed that God would raise up men and women of
God to positions of leadership and influence in our country. However,
since the end of the George W. Bush administration, there have been
previous few answers to that prayer," writes
Author and Pastor David Murray. "Who would have thought that Donald
Trump might be the answer to that prayer?”
At
the heart of these appointments is Vice President Mike
Pence
who has previously said “My Christian faith is at the heart of who I
am” and “I’m a Christian, a conservative and a Republican, in that
order." Then there is Chief of Staff Reince Preibus, who has
previously tweeted
"Christ’s sacrificial work provides an example for us all, and we join
with the Psalmist in saying ‘You make known to me the path of
life.’"
Then
we've got Attorney General Jeff Sessions (who is a Sunday school
teacher at his family’s church), and Housing and Urban Development’s
Dr. Ben Carson, who believes that God spoke clearly to him that Trump
would be president.
Further, there is Education’s Betsy DeVos, a Christian committed to
bringing God's
'Kingdom'through
schooling. Then we have newly-announced Secretary of State Rex
Tillerson, EPA’s Scott Pruitt, CIA’s Mike Pompeo (whose family attends
Eastminster Presbyterian Church), and Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley.
They are all Christians!
The
number of believers in the upper echelons of the Trump administration
is quite incredible. Rather, it would be ... if God were not in control.
CIA Director Mike Pompeo said, just a couple of days ago, "Jesus Christ is the only hope of America."
I am greatly encouraged!

We have been following President Trump closely, he has a severe battle ahead of him and we are disturbed by the behavior of the Republican party. When will government and modern politicians realize how much trouble this nation is in and that we need a real leader not a nice guy...who wants to make friends with everyone. Melania and the Lord's prayer made us feel hope. She does not have perfect English and I suspect being First Lady was never in her mind, but her genuine sincerity is a rare and wonderful thing. She is the epitome of class. President Trump has begun to build a group of strong and moral people around him.
Fiona, I couldn't agree more, on every point. And our new President is in very great need of prayer.
Well, enough of us prayed that Trump would win. No reason why we can't pray that he continues to carry on.
And with the Chinese water torture of the Democrats drip-drip-drip of trying to get some "scandal" to stick every day, Trump and his administration need our prayers as well as our strong support and admiration for stepping up to serve our country.
I was glad to see him going to a private school to promote his education agenda today. By having the kids have to go to mass, or services, they learn values and morals, not just reading, writing, and 'rithmatic. Both are important to be a successful, productive citizen.
Just my $0.02.
Suz, your two cents is always welcome here. And for what it's worth, I agree with you. Thank you.
