At Least 27 Reported Dead in Texas Church Shooting

A mass casualty shooting near San Antonio, Texas, left at least 27 people dead and dozens injured. Reports from Sutherland Springs, Texas, indicate that multiple people have been taken to area hospitals. The gunman is reported to be dead after deputies cornered him about five miles from the scene.

Prayers for this nation are needed like never before.

Father God, we lift up the United States to you. We humble ourselves before you, and repent for the many sins this country has committed against you and your Word.

We ask you to intervene to heal this land, and bring it back to you, in Jesus' mighty name - amen!

This is NOT the way to settle differences with your mother-in-law, I don't care how much hassle/bother she is. Just saying...

It is probably a sin, but I am glad that the gunman was found and dispatched promptly, not just saving Texas the cost of a trial, but also all those families of having to relive the horror of losing their loved ones all over again. Personally, I'm not a good enough Christian to forgive anyone who goes around shooting babies in church.

Suz, there are natural consequences for the actions we take on Earth, for good or ill. Forgiving is not the same as excusing; we must forgive the sinner, but still hate the sin & expect the penalties to apply.

However, that forgiveness can be a process, and we may have to approach it thusly: "Lord, I choose by faith to forgive. Please change my heart as needed."
