Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it’s God’s order. So live responsibly as a citizen. If you’re irresponsible to the state, then you’re irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible. Duly constituted authorities are only a threat if you’re trying to get by with something. Decent citizens should have nothing to fear.

I have read this one before. I have to wonder how it relates to places like North Korea. Or maybe it doesn't since I am not there.
And if America becomes a socialist country, is that God's will because America turned from Him, and do we still obey, or is it admissable to overthrow the government for a Christian one?
Linda, that's a rather deep issue, but I'll try. Since the Constitution provides for a democratic republic and no other, and provides for ways to correct its course.
The verse here says "insofar as there is peace and order, it’s God’s order." A Socialist takeover would certainly produce disorder, so that's not of God. And it refers to "duly constituted authorities", which would not apply to Socialists, since their stated goals are antithetical to the Constitution.
If a revolt took place, each of us would have to earnestly seek God's face, and ask Him what - if anything - we should do. It happened in the 1770s, so it could happen again.
Thank you, Reverend. It is just one of those things I wonder about when I read the Bible.
