Stranger in the Night

We had a visitor who left tracks all over our driveway in the wee hours of this morning, as the snow was tapering off.

I darkened the photo a bit, to make the moose tracks more easily visible.

I found out a couple of weeks ago that we have moose in Colorado!

So footprints in the drive and a selfie in the header? It does look like a big one for sure!!

Is it moose season yet? :)

Jim, you'll have bear - and probably mountain lions, too. Welcome to the mountains, pilgrim! :)

Suz, that'll run around 1200 lbs, give or take.

Linda, moose season was in September.

That explains why it doesn't mind walking in your back yard.
Do subsistence people follow the hunting and fishing seasons? Just curious.

Linda - the subsistence folks hunt as needed.

Okay. I wasn't sure. I expect no moose walk through their backyards then. :)
