The Word was first, the Word present to God, God present to the Word. The Word was God, in readiness for God from day one. The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood. We saw the glory with our own eyes, the one-of-a-kind glory, like Father, like Son, Generous inside and out, true from start to finish.
John 1:1-2, 14 MSG

Curious. And I am sure it would be just as curious in the King James version. I always found that hard to understand.
Thank you, Reverend. Glad you are feeling better. You all have a wonderful, blessed weekend.
Linda, perhaps I can shed some light on this one: it says that Jesus is the living Word of God. So let's change it.
"In the beginning was [Jesus], and [Jesus] was with God, and [Jesus]was God. The same was in the beginning with God. And [Jesus] was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
Hmmmmm. Just doesn't have the same ring to it.
No worries, Ed. That's the reason I switch up the translation I use, from time to time. Again, my purpose is to make people think about the verse(s) in question, rather than just glossing over a familiar passage.
That does indeed help, Reverend. Thank you kindly. :)
