TB, I don't really know you, so this is not necessarily an answer for you personally - but it is what I might say to a parishioner who came to me seeking guidance.
Jesus said, "No one who follows me stumbles around in the dark." The question such a person might need to ask himself is, am I truly following Him?
That's a question only that person can answer, and this may not fit your situation. I'm just tossing it out there.
