God's Word for Saturday, 6/2/18

Everyone has to die once, then face the consequences. Christ’s death was also a one-time event, but it was a sacrifice that took care of sins forever. And so, when he next appears, the outcome for those eager to greet him is, precisely, salvation.
Hebrews 9:28 (MSG)

Once to die, then the judgment.

I wish more people took the concept of Memento Mori (Remember you will die) more seriously. I think it change a lot of how folks spend their time.

I agree with your sentiment, TB. But since most live their lives as if they have forever, it won't occur to them until it's too late. Obviously, no one wishes to dwell on their eventual death, but it IS a fact. And a father who never prepares his children for his death has failed an essential duty (with apologies to the Black Panther movie, which uses a version of that).
