Borepatch: It's Not "Socialized" Healthcare

... it's Political Healthcare.

The money quote: "There are three obvious lessons here: First, socialism doesn’t work in medicine or any other human enterprise. It removes the incentive to keep up with the times and it invariably puts soulless bureaucrats in charge of your life. These people couldn’t care less if you live or die. Second, capitalism does work in medicine and every other human enterprise. It provides the incentive to remain state-of-the-art, and it puts you in charge of your own life. Third, anyone who says socialism will render U.S. health care more efficient or equitable than our quasi-capitalistic system is an idiot or a liar."

Reverend, I do not know if you caught the article today, but a supervisor in San Francisco has proposed eliminating company cafeterias. The reasons? So that people who drive in cars and then sit all day in offices have to get out and become "part of the community".

Socialized Dining. Coming to a city near you.

(And yes, Borepatch has captured the essence).

No, I hadn't seen that. Somehow I'm not surprised, though. Government bureaucrats LIVE for the experience of ordering behavior in others. Because we need to be told what to do ... or something.
