God's Word for Thursday, 8/30/18

Statement:
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Ephesians 2:19 KJV

Exposition:
That’s plain enough, isn’t it? You’re no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building.
Ephesians 2:19 MSG

Truth.

It is kind of like America in a way, though, isn't it? We have all these illegal alien immigrants who come here but don't want to assimilate. They want to make their own countries.

We as Christians should all assimilate into the body of Christ? Or do we remain seperate?

I think I have confused myself. Sorry.
Thank you, Reverend.

Linda, it's similar, but not exactly the same. Assimilation is beneficial to the immigrant, but they have the option to remain outsiders.

In the case of Christians, God grafted us in, and we remain out only by actively resisting His plan, at our own peril. The Lord designed us to fit in. :)
