For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
Romans 14:8 KJV
It’s God we are answerable to—all the way from life to death and everything in between—not each other.

I think a lot of people, especially politicians, forget that. They believe they are answerable to no one.
Thank you, Reverend.
Linda, it's the primary doctrine behind atheism and Darwinism. If they admit that there's a Creator, then they'd have to also admit that they're answerable to that Creator. This makes them extremely nervous, so they pretend there's no one there. But Psalm 14:1 says it best: "The fool hath said in his heart: 'There is no God'".
And in a way very freeing Reverend. If I truly believe myself answerable to God - and not in that Bravado sort of way of "Only God can judge me" while acting without restraint - then fear of those around me can drop away. Which, I think, is good for the soul.
Excellent, TB! In other words, "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)
