Quotes of the Day

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius - and a lot of courage - to move in the opposite direction."

~~ Albert Einstein

"Most of the luxuries, and many of the so-called comforts of life, are not only not indispensable, but positive hindrances to the elevation of humanity."

~~ Henry David Thoreau

"The bill of rights grants NOTHING to you and me. What it does is state that the government has no power to restrict or interfere with a particular right. The Bill of Rights are limitations on the government, not a laundry list of what Americans are allowed to do."

~~ Robb Allen, Sharp As A Marble

I like that last one...don't think of it that way often.

As for the 2nd one...we went tenting to the old engine show last week as the motor home decided not to start, even though it had run just fine last fall. If you bring an old tractor/engine you get into the show for free, and you can camp for $10 for the entire week. So being very frugal (hotel rooms are expensive during "the season" in Traverse City) with hubby's urging, I pulled out the tent, the mattress pads, the battery operated fans (it was wicked humid the first couple of nights and the tent lacks a/c) and we went "primitive camping"...they supply water and port-a-potties (very clean ones!!) I had fun. He had fun. We were both very glad to get home to the a/c and to our own mattress...not to mention a shower.
Not having a shower for 5 days, and no place to really wash up...well, the shower was much appreciated when we got home. :)

Suz, we've done things like that in the past. It's ... interesting ... and often more fun than one would suspect. :)
But yes, that shower afterward is a pure joy. And usually a bit overdue. Heh.

I especially like the last one. We are very much conditioned currently to think the other way.

Exactly, TB, because that's exactly what they want us to think. Congress (and most of the federal gov't) has been ignoring the Constitution since around 1890, give or take. And each time they overstep it, it's with a longer stride.

I believe we're at a "take it back now, or never take it back at all" moment in history. It's why the deep state is fighting so hysterically against Donald Trump AND his supporters.
