God's Word for Friday, 10/12/18

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.
Proverbs 1:8-9 KJV

Pay close attention, friend, to what your father tells you; never forget what you learned at your mother’s knee. Wear their counsel like flowers in your hair, like rings on your fingers.
Proverbs 1:8-9 MSG

Some old wag once stated the older I got, the more smart my father seemed. I have found that to be surprisingly accurate.

I believe most of us make the same discovery, my friend. The scary part is when your father is no longer around, and you discover that you're the one who must be smart or wise.

Very nice! And definitely true the older I get, the smarter my folks get. Scary thing was, that last time my son visited, he told me the same thing...Yikes! Lol.

If I have to be the smart/wise one...that calls for LOTS of prayer!!

It’s gratifying to hear your offspring say it, but daunting to consider. Prayer? Oh, absolutely!
