Several on-ramps and a bridge collapsed. Highways buckled, broke up, or fell into a sinkhole in multiple places.
No serious injuries reported, which is a miracle from God. Too many messages to reply to right now, but THANK YOU, everyone, for checking on us.

This is the off-ramp from Minnesota Dr onto International Airport Road in Anchorage. This guy has a story for his grandkids! |
Sinkhole formed by liquefaction along the Glenn Highway a few miles north of us. |

So glad to read that you are all okay. Our whole family was checking your page every little while. Sorry for the damage to your beautiful new house.
Thanks, threecollie. Our power was off until after 3 this morning, so there was no blogging nor Book of Faces.
God's grace on you all.
Absolutely praise to God!
Yes, things can be replaced. Maybe earthquake latches for the cupboards in addition to new dishes?
Thank you, Jay.
Linda, probably.
Prayers have been answered - you and your family are OK. Dishes can be replaced, but those we care about can't.
Thank you, Lord for watching over Rev Paul and his family!
You guys were the first thing we thought of when we heard the news the other day.
Thank God for your deliverance.
Power restored?
Glad y'all are okay, THAT Is what counts. Everything else is replaceable.
Vicki & NFO - you're right. Stuff can be repaired or replaced. People are a bit more complicated. :)
drjim - thank you for your prayers.
Ed - the power came back on this morning at 03:10. It's nice to have heat again.
I am so relieved to learn that you and your wife are okay. This is a little embarrassing to admit, but my first thoughts were about you and the Kilcher families. I don’t really personally know anyone in Alaska, but follow your blog and watch “Alaska the Last Frontier” on tv. Then when I saw the news later I was reminded of Sarah Palin and her family. I was relieved to know that only ‘things’ were damaged and not the bodies and souls of those are irreplaceable! God is indeed good!
Hi, Sue; thank you for your concern. Don't be embarrassed by caring for others, even when you don't know them. It's a Christian compassion, and is a good thing. But yes, all will be well. Our clean-up is nearly complete, as my wife & daughters cleaned 2 1/2 of our 3 floors today while I was at work. God is good!
Rev. Paul
Glad you guys and the house, survived the shake, rattle and roll.
My son has some extensive damage to his place. All drywall cracked, sunk floors and windows and doors pinched shut. I told him and the family to come up here to the interior. But, he is is fathers son and stubborn. He used some big bars and pried his entrance door open. Squared it the best he could, and rehung it. Hours later his power came back on. The good news is there is no water or gas leaks, and everyone is safe.
Griz, I'm glad your son is okay. I'm amazed at the lack of damage to our house. We have a lot of cracked drywall in the family room on the first floor, and a few on the second, but overall everything seems intact.
So glad to hear you are all safe.
Glad you and your family are okay Reverend. You were the first ones I thought of when The Ravishing Mrs. TB said there had been an earthquake. Be safe.
Thanks, WSF. We continue to be amazed that no one was seriously hurt.
TB, I appreciate that.
