God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 4:24 KJV
“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.”

Reverend, any thoughts beyond the general concept of worshipping God in spirit? This has always seemed to be one of those passages that hints at far more than most people seem to get.
TB, we are spiritual creatures having a temporary physical existence. We are a spirit (the part which communicates & hears from God). We have a soul (mind, will, and emotions), and we live in a body.
It's not a question of merely making a mental assent to the concept of Christianity; we must open our spirits to hear from, and to obey, the Lord. Only when we are open to Him can we be truly responsive to His will.
This requires a submission far greater than many are prepared to make.
Thanks Reverend. That makes a lot of sense.
