Nic Petit reached the checkpoint of Grayling on Friday, after driving the roughly 20 miles from Anvik.
According to leaderboard standings from the Iditarod Trail Committee, four more mushers have also checked into, and out of Anvik, and are now approaching Grayling as well.
Those mushers include Jessie Royer, Joar Leifseth Ulsom, Pete Kaiser, and Mitch Seavey.
Petit is listed as resting according to the Iditarod tracker. While he's in the lead, Leifseth Ulsom is listed as having taken an 8-hour layover, whereas Petit has not yet.

Amazing to wonder at their strategy.
Is there an eight hour and twenty four hour layover?
A couple of the first, just one of the second.
