Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Matthew 7:13-14 KJV
Don’t look for shortcuts to God. The market is flooded with surefire, easygoing formulas for a successful life that can be practiced in your spare time. Don’t fall for that stuff, even though crowds of people do. The way to life—to God!—is vigorous and requires total attention.
Matthew 7:13-14 MSG

The King James version sounds almost Irish or Scottish. Don't know why I thought that reading it.
Thank you, Reverend.
It could easily have that cadence, Linda. Thanks!
Do you provide the little "translations" after the quote, Padre?
They usually add just a bit, but this one was required! I could barely make sense out of the direct quote!
Oddly enough, the modern church almost never talks about the narrowness of the gate but rather how much wider it needs to be.
That’s often the case, my friend. But the Bible has an answer: “From such turn away.”
