Those pearly button light switches....still use them every day in several of our rooms. lol
Sometimes I wish we still used those; I always liked 'em, myself. But the old, cloth-covered wires ... those gotta go!
I remember most of those.
We still have a drive-in movie here. We've been a couple of times, and it's a fun thing to do.
And the snack bar actually has decent food!
Dang.....Go ahead!! Remind me how old I am....
The tree was my dad's. You couldn't put too many icicles on.
The washer was my Granny's. My mom got her hand caught and broke in the wringer when she was growing up and was never able to hold an iron properly after that.
Drive-ins were cool.
I remember ‘em too, my friend. Guess that puts us in the same boat.
We used to load the icicles until the tree was nearly invisible. Grandma had an old wringer washer in her “summer kitchen “ , even though there wasn’t any electricity. She still washed clothes on a washboard,
Yep yep yep know that one that one that one...
And pincurls. Mom made me wear those bloody bobby pins to bed so I'd have pincurls. Hated that.
I remember pin curls, but they were never inflicted on my sister. But I can still smell that gosh-awful Lilt home perm goo.
Remember them all. Helped my mother with washing. Two tubs of rinse water on a folding steel bench the right size to hold wash tubs (and I've bathed in a wash tub as a child.
I've washed clothes in a tub (at Grandma's farm) but only bathed in them as a lark.
Oh yes, those were the good old days. Great memories! I also remember "Mr. Bubbles" from that era. Thanks for sharing...
You’re welcome, CW. I’m glad you liked them.
Dang it, Rev Paul - I know all but maybe three of these and I'm only 30 years old. I've been that age for a while, though - 30 was the best thirty years of my life ....
You’re in fine shape for such an... um, enhanced 30. 👍🏻
Sigh... I recognize EVERY one of those...
I understand, my friend. All but a couple are very familiar to me, too.
