See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Don’t waste your time on useless work, mere busywork, the barren pursuits of darkness. Expose these things for the sham they are. It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ.
Wake up from your sleep,
Climb out of your coffins;
Christ will show you the light!
Climb out of your coffins;
Christ will show you the light!
So watch your step. Use your head. Make the most of every chance you get. These are desperate times! Don’t live carelessly, unthinkingly. Make sure you understand what the Master wants.

Amen to that.
Odd to me that we live in a era where time is understood to be a commodity - yet when pointing to wisdom from 3000 years ago we are somehow told "it is not relevant."
The prevailing attitude is “Nothing that happened before I was born can possibly have any relevance to me.”
So sadly true, Reverend. That is why people can be convinced we never landed on the moon, the Holocaust never happened, and more important, that Jesus died for our sins and WILL be coming back.
It's been said that the devil's most successful lie is that "he doesn't exist." In Jesus' time, the rulers (Saducees and Pharisees - the political & religious councils) acknowledged His miracles. They hated Him because He said He is the Son of God. Nowadays, people choose not to believe either of those things.
