Despite all this, the Muni Assembly still voted to extend the mayor's (whomever he/she will be) emergency powers through November 30. Because reasons! Follow the science! Emergency! Pandemic!

I had seen this story elsewhere. Sounds like a gem.
He’s a real peach. He’s also kept the city of Anchorage locked down and mostly closed for seven months, despite the State of Alaska being open for a great deal of that time.

Indeed. We now have 8 committed liberals to 3 conservatives. Only the voters can bust that up, if they choose to do it.
