Snow Day, Updated

Update: average depth in the driveway is right around 20 inches. It's a big thrower, with a 30" mouth, and it took about 90 minutes to do the 260± feet of driveway.

And of course, the road grader came by as I turned the snowthrower off, and plowed both ends of the circle drive shut again.

 I can't even.

Ouch, that sucks...

They specialize in coming by after I’ve done the drive. Doesn’t seem to matter when I do it.

We're getting ready for a three day Winter Storm Warning. They haven't forecast the amounts, other than "heavy".

And this time of year it's heavy, WET snow. A real pain to shovel.

Plow jockeys seem to take special delight in doing that. Back in the day, a friend's father loaded his dozer and went out to a plow jockey's home. You can imagine what said jockey found when he got home.

Drjim, I just saw your forecast in a news story. Be careful and stay safe.

WSF, yes - I can imagine. Brings a smile to the face, doesn’t it?

Murphy's Law, of course, Reverend.

But of course, Linda. These days, I expect no less. Heh.

This is why I don't call anyone to plow my driveway until the plow has been down the street at least once.

Ahh, I learned to dislike snow while in Iowa. I think I'd dislike it more living up there... of course, you know why. :) Be BLESSED oh, brother there art thou! :)

PH, it would be a luxury to just stay indoors and look at the snow. But with four of us sharing the driveway, it’s up to me to keep it passable.

Bro, I’m aware of your aversion to deep snow. Not a problem. You stay down there where it’s warm; it gives me a reason to travel. 🙂
