God's Word: the Recompense

(Note: if this passage seems strange or without context, just keep an eye on the news. ~ Paul)

And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.

Isaiah 49:26 KJV

And your enemies, crazed and desperate, will turn on themselves,
killing each other in a frenzy of self-destruction.
Then everyone will know that I, God,
have saved you—I, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Isaiah 49:26 MSG

Looking forward to it.

I've read my little pocket Bible more this last 18 months than ever before.

Sometimes I feel like I'm cramming for my finals....

Isn't it, NFO? When the offense against God has been blatant and unrepentant, the penalty is usually described the same way.

Ed, it's going to be an interesting time in history.

drjim, I would normally say, "Then my work here is done." But there's more to come. :)

I've said it many times; evil is a dragon that eats its own tail!

That’s a great description, Pete. Thanks!

Reverend, I get the context of the verse from Isaiah. Honestly, taking it at face value, I will be a little horrified if what comes to pass is how it worked out in the Old Testament. Not surprised, just horrified. We have not seen the horrors of siege warfare since WW II.

I understand what you say, TB. Just remember that God's ways are not our ways.
