God's Word for 10JUN21

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

Colossians 3:13 (King James Version)

So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

Colossians 3:13 (The Message)

It’s so easy to say. ‘Just forgive and forget, and everything will be fine…!’

I can say the words, but the bike and trash is still in my heart and I can’t pray it away. I have my hands full just restraining myself from acting on what’s in my heart after certain folks deliberately shredded it… and I can’t put them in a position where they would only do it again…

Glen, we're all faced with commandments which seem too hard. What works for me is to say, "Lord, I'm choose by faith to forgive, but I need Your help. I give You permission to change me and make it so in my spirit, in Jesus' name."

If it helps Glen, forgiving is as much or more for what it does for us rather than them. In some cases, the forgiveness may never be known by them, but by you and God alone.

TB, you're right, but didn't go far enough. In Matthew 6:15, Jesus says, "But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Rather significant, that.
