The local weatherguesser needs desperately to be replaced with someone who can come a bit closer to the truth. Yesterday's 4" ... "oh wait, maybe 8 inches" ... turned into 22 25".
His forecast, of course, was for "half an inch" this morning.
Do I need to run the snowblower for a measly three inches? Why, yes. Yes, I do. Otherwise, it freezes into an impermeable base which only an ice chipper will remove ... until breakup.*
At least the removal of an amount this small won't take long. The 30" mouth of the snowblower cuts quite a wide path.
* = what Alaskans call the spring thaw & breaking up of the ice in the streams. The kind my little Ford Escape bottomed out in, last February during an early thaw cycle.
