An attempt against the Supreme Court? Please pray protection for the Justices and the Court as a whole.
Iditarod Soap Opera Race update: The mysterious and unproven allegations against Brent Sass continue, and no charges were ever filed, but he's banned from this year's race for no known reason. Now Eddie Burke Jr., who was banned until charges against him were dropped, has dropped out of the race voluntarily

Why did he drop out? Answer is here.

Irrelevant Local News Dept: Anchorage Assembly to vote on a resolution calling for a cease-fire in the Gaza region of Israel. I'm sure the Israelis are impressed. NOT. But Heaven forbid that the Assembly  goes a day without generating another minor headline as they continue their drive to eliminate the mayor's office in favor of themselves.

Weather Forecast for Iditarod Start: Afternoon hours Wednesday through Saturday for Southcentral Alaska will only warm into the low- to mid-teens, with overnight lows back below zero. While it doesn’t look to be bitter cold air, overnight lows could drop down near -15 degrees for some of the notoriously cold spots across Southcentral. With this stretch of cold weather staying with us into the weekend, one will want to dress warmly for the ceremonial start of the Iditarod Saturday.

Reverend, I would find it an interesting statement if all contestants in this year's Iditarod dropped out on principal. It would be a pretty powerful statement, as well as economic one.

TB, while I understand your point, that's extremely unlikely. Each musher would have to repay $100K to $200K in sponsors' funding assistance.

I hope they all have a safe race.
Thank you for all the information, Reverend.

You all be safe and God bless.

Kudos to Burke for honoring his 'commitments'. And useless political cover with that resolution... sigh

You're welcome, Linda. I'm glad you find it useful and/or entertaining.

Concur, NFO, on both points.
