This year's Iditarod will start from Fairbanks due to the lack of snow in Southcentral Alaska.
Saturday morning's ceremonial start will see the 33 mushers, a field tied for the smallest ever, running a 1.5 mile route, rather than the normal 11-mile trek.
The race itself will start from Fairbanks on Monday.
